Clothes That Fit The Average Dress Size

I recently worked with a client who worked for a trendy online store. She wanted to look polished and put together. She also had a great employee discount. There was one catch, my client was a size 14/16, which is the average dress size for women in America. One would think it wouldn't be difficult to find items that work, but it is.
After working with a lot of clients who are size 14/16, I have found brands that will not only fit a size 14/16, but are flattering as well. A lot of these brands are pricey, however the pieces are high quality, will last for awhile, and look great on! I have found a lot of these brands are on sale at retailers! Below are some of the brands that I dress my clients in.
Eileen Fisher makes clothing out of high end fabrics that are comfortable to wear. One of the things I like most about this line is how well the pieces go together. There is always a shell for the jackets and sweaters. Everything is cut for curves. The one downside is some pieces are cut boxy, and that is is not always cut that flatters everyone. It comes in regular, petite, and plus size.
There are so many great pieces in this line. You can find blazers, pants, and blouses for the office, as well as dresses, and jeans for the weekend. The pants are cut in a variety of styles, which makes it easy to find a pair that will work. This line also comes in regular, petite, and plus size.
Trina Turk has bright colors, great work pants, and blouses. The items are cut well for someone who is curvy. Trina Turk even makes great swim suits!
Anthropologie, the store, carries a variety of brands that work well for a size 14/16. I have found most of their items run big. Anthropologie carries petites.
