A long time ago, a mentor of mine suggested getting a personal board of directors. I was still a student, years away from ever working as a clinician and having any leadership status. Why in the world would a lowly student need a board of directors? Well, my mentor explained that my future success was based upon those I surrounded myself with, now. Those I surrounded myself with on a regular basis would have the greatest impact on my growth and life direction, for better or for worse. The concept made sense so I started thinking and praying through who would be on my personal board. Whenever I’ve made any big life changes, I’ve always consulted with these board members and I can truly attribute my current success to God’s blessings, hard work, and their wise counsel. So what about you? Who would you choose to place in your board?
