Oh honey, well, you can’t have it all.
*Cue eye roll*
How many times have we all heard that? I know I’ve heard it my whole life, that as women, something always has to be sacrificed. If we are excelling at work, then family life suffers. If we are fulfilled at home, we can’t keep up with any outside demands. But honestly? I think we’re capable of anything.
My first job was at a gym daycare, which transitioned into being a nanny, and finally into Momcierge. The experience I’ve gained over the last 10 years has been so much greater than childcare. Working on an intimate level with families in their homes has helped shape every ounce of the woman I have become. One of the most impactful things I’ve encountered in my work life? Strong women.
As a woman, even talking about strength can be a funny thing. We have so many old ideas embedded into our very existence in society. What does it really mean to be strong? I think it’s nurturing yourself and your loved ones’ spiritual, physical, and metal well-being. I think part of being strong is the knowledge that in some moments, you won’t feel strong at all. I think being a strong woman means embracing all that you have been, all that you are, and all that you have yet to become.
Is it effortless? No.
Is it always pretty? No.
Sometimes it’s hard, and it’s ugly, but no matter what, it’s worth it. I’ve seen it over and over again. With enough belief in ourselves, we really can have it all. I mean, come on. Is there anything more powerful than a woman embracing a bold, big, and strong life for herself?
