Meet Carolyn Amayo

Counseling Associate

My faith has helped me find meaning and purpose and has been a source of strength during difficult times. My personal experiences inspired me to help others, particularly mothers, to feel more like themselves.

Scrolling through Instagram, seeing all those perfect, photoshopped images of motherhood, and feeling like you're the only one who can't seem to bounce back can feel profoundly isolating. After the birth of my first child, I was hit with a wave of postpartum depression that shook me to my core. I couldn't recognize myself anymore, and negative thoughts about my body consumed me. It felt like I was living in a body that was not mine. I knew I needed to make a change, for my baby's sake and my own, so I made the courageous decision to try therapy for the first time. This process was life-changing and ultimately lead to a career change so that I can help other women struggling like I was years ago.

I aim to provide a safe space for women to process feelings of powerlessness and unfairness that come with infertility and the fear of becoming a new mom. I am here for any moms who have experienced loss and find it hard to attend gender reveals and baby showers. I want you to know that your feelings are valid and you're not alone I want to create a space where you can ask the questions you feel like you can't ask, or where you can find healing from the heartbreak of feeling disconnected from your baby. My goal is to equip you with practical tools that you can use not only in this season but in future seasons too.

Additionally, I love working with students who find themselves scrolling through social media for hours, comparing themselves to influencers, and feeling like they don't measure up.  Whether it's academic anxiety, social anxiety, or the comparison trap, I meet students where they are and offer tangible tools to address and reduce their fears. As the world slowly returns to normal and school resumes, many teens are struggling with anxiety and don't have the tools to cope. I enjoy working with parents, helping them learn how to support their children and equip them with the tools they need to manage their anxiety and thrive.

As someone who has found tremendous comfort and direction through my own faith, I know firsthand how valuable it can be to have a spiritual anchor in times of uncertainty. That's why I welcome clients of all faiths and backgrounds, and I'm happy to explore the role that spirituality can play in your healing journey if you're interested. I'm here to walk alongside you and offer the support and guidance you need to find your way forward.
