My Story
Hello! My name is Rob Rait, and I am an Associate Counselor here at Simplify Life. I understand how counseling can be an intimidating and vulnerable experience, and how sessions can be extremely overwhelming. I work to create a safe non-judgmental space that supports and validates you.
My passion for counseling began in high school when I served as a small group leader, where I mentored young men, sparking my desire to support others through life’s unique challenges. Together, I hope that we can use the space together to empower you to explore your thoughts and emotions at your own pace. Part of my story involves being adopted as a young child, and I have experienced firsthand the effects of how attachment affects every facet of life.
How I work
Whether you're facing anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or the lingering effects of past experiences, I believe healing begins with feeling truly seen and understood. I like using empathy, to help create that supportive space where we can explore patterns, make connections, and work toward lasting change.
I believe that by exploring past attachments, challenging unhelpful beliefs, uncovering negative thought patterns, or incorporating self-care techniques, we will work together to uncover what holds you back and build the skills to move forward.
My communication style combines both directness and empathy. I believe that it is important to be clear and honest but also validate emotions and meet people where they are in their journey. My communication goal is to help the clients feel understood and supported, while also helping empower clients to take the next step.
Things may feel challenging or overwhelming now, but growth isn’t always comfortable, but it is still progress. You are already further along on your journey than you may think.
Therapy shouldn’t be about “fixing” you, because you are not broken. It’s about understanding your story, making sense of your emotions, and finding new ways to engage with yourself and with others. I aim to support, challenge, and empower you as you step toward a new version of yourself that feels freer and more authentic to you!
About Rob
When not in the office, I enjoy outdoor activities, including pickleball, disc golf, and hiking. I enjoy going to new coffee shops, thrifting, spending time in the Word, and working out. My self-care routine involves regular exercise, emphasizing my prayer time, and taking time for myself through watching a movie or binge-watching a new show!
Rob’s session fee is $100 per 50-minute session.
